Rick Steves' Ireland 2010 with map

by: Rick Steves, Pat O'Connor
I travel A LOT to Europe and I don't ever make a trip without consulting Rick Steves first! I have read most travel guides out there and Rick's is by far the best! I lived in Italy and still read Rick's book to get recommendations on where to stay and eat when I visit! He should be your only choice!

Lonely Planet Ireland

by: Ryan Ver Berkmoes
This is a well-written, manageable guide offering many alternatives for those travelling to (or dreaming of going) the Emerald Isle. Lonely Planet Guides have always done a decent job of this, and this guide is no exception.

Does it do anything unique? Not especially. Lead to hidden treasures? Well, no (the leprechauns are evidently still guarding those pots of gold at the ends of rainbows). Could it use loads more photos? Sure. Is it encyclopedic in its coverage? Nope. And it doesn't do much for Northern Ireland at all, at all, which is truly unfortunate.

Frommer's Ireland 2010

by: Christi Daugherty, Jack Jewers
Yeah, don't buy this for Kindle. Sucks, maps are worthless. Does not translate well to Kindle. Better to have the book in hand. Not a good idea putting it on Kindle. Also, Amazon won't give you money back in any easy fashion if you don't like your Kindle purchase.

Bummer....
